Stanton Sedona Review - Riding the Sedona in Sedona - WHAT A BIKE!
The Stanton Sedona is HERE! This is my new signature hardtail frame and I'm so excited to share it with the world. This is my idea of what the perfect green and black hardtail should be. It's got a strong bmx/dj/trials background to it, and it's the steel hardtail I wish existed before I designed it. With a short wheelbase, a short rear end, room for massive droppers, and a sensible head angle, this thing is designed to make boring trails exciting again. I'm thrilled to finally get some dirt on the tires and take it out. If you want more info on this bike, I have a 30 min review vid over on patreon.

I have a voodoo bizango pro with very a similar geometry vibe (75 st/64 ht/435 stays/1200 wheelbase) and for a budget bike it really seems to hit this sweet spot of modern trail/xc; very balanced and capable, neutral yet exciting. I heard another bike OG Joe Murray has input into the designs for voodoo. Love the video and would love a turner one day..!

Just bought this size L and I am 177cm man, hopefully it fits ok, got concerns with the excessive stack got my own carbon handlebars with 25mm rise. Hopefully it has the 150mm travel post like you said, can't wait to pick it up in a few days, currently riding a 100mm travel hardtail with 3x8 and weighs about 16-17kg. It has good tires and been riding it on local trail, will see how this one differs.

Great video! I'm glad you still make the point about XC bikes being the right bike for some people/trails. In my case I bought a trail bike a few years ago but am now saving up for a Specialized Chisel because that's actually the correct bike for my area. I like that it has the right geometry for me to put a shorter stem and bars with a little rise on, that way it should be comfortable, agile and fun yet fast bike.

I own Stoic 4 29 as well as 4 different bikes 26 wheels. I don't enjoy the ride feel and I thought it is because of the wheels and I decided that 29 wheels are not for me. After I red your complains I now think that there's something wrong with the frame geo cause I also feel not stable compared to other bikes

We now have bikes that feel uncomfortable 😣 At least to me! I HATE feeling stretched! Where is the comfort in that! Long top tubes? Unfortunately even the xc bikes feel overlong to me! Even sizing down by one size doesn't help! Short stem? Still feels wrong... It's a different story on my road bike single speed/fixed gear, that geometry actually kinda fits my body more. Even the drop bars, even though I don't consider drops comfortable at all 😅 625mm top tube... Still feeling stretched... I'm 186cm tall, with longer legs and arms, and shorter torso, and I ride 45-48 (currently 47mm) frames! They feel long! Slacked angles? The bikes feel lethargic 😌 The ONLY bike builder who's geometry makes sense to me is,Jeff Jones! I wish I could afford one of even the cheapest of his bikes! Greetings from Croatia 😎

I am considering shorter cranks (160 or 155mm) to replace the stock 175mm cranks on a 2016 Kona Precept 150 with a fairly slack seat tube angle of 75.0 degrees. The saddle rails are already all the way forward and I still feel like I'd like to put more power on my pedals. Could shorter cranks help? (For what it's worth I am 6'0" tall and I am riding a size L).

Just watched this through for the first time. I love your channel and wish you everything good. I got back on my bike this week for the first time two years after various minor illnesses and just never feeling fit and motivated. Watching some of your old episodes by chance recently raised my enthusiasm level and gave me the push to climb on the bike again - even though I can't currently do what I did in the past. My friends want me to get an electric bike, but riding my old 2011 Salsa Mariachi hardtail once more really appeals. Best Wishes, Timmy (Southampton U.K)

I have Stoic for three years and I love it. The most crucial is tire choice because the stock Schwalbe ones are definitely not good choice. I am running Continental CrossKings 29x2.6, and these are great for this bike. They give great comfort and grip in conditions the hardtail is usualy used. Hans Dampf and Magic Marry are enduro tires for fullsus bikes and they excel in mud.

Set up my Big Al with a 120mm Sid, riser bars and singlespeed. Rides so good. Would love to try a frame with higher BB, stack and slacker HTA with a 120mm fork. The big al geo chart is actually from a 130mm fork so with the 44mm offset of the SID and how high it rides in the travel it works pretty nice. Any idea where to get spacers for under the headtube? That sounds sweet

The less mechanical advantage you have the more you have to rely on yourself. Single speed helps you develop line choice and critical decision making on the trail. Adding a rigid fork further develops your bike handling skills. I've been on rigid ss for a few years now and my riding is completely different. I can ride further faster and have way more fun doing it. It's all about you on the bike. You also don't need a dropper post. Rigid ss is the way and it's a shame it isn't more popular.

Back around 2007 - 2008 I got one the early 26" Cotic Soda frames from eBay. I swapped out the components from my Soul. It was astonishingly comfortable and quick on smooth singletrack, but when I took it to a Cotic weekend in The Peaks (Derbyshire U.K.) the Soda was downright scary and out of control. It was just so noodly.

I recently picked a trek x caliber. At first i was loving the 29" wheels it rode over things easier than my 26, but its way harder to corner, and its much harder for me to get the front end up. Not sure if thats mostly the geo of this bike. But i find myself riding the old 26er more often and enjoying it more that the 29er.

2.6 on front 2.4 on rear but thats what we like on Full sus I'm still running 27.5s on my 2024 Full sus don't believe that 29ers can be faster it must be the only vehicle ever thats faster with a larger wheel circumference it's scientifically impossible so think it's all in the head because they may roll over rocks abit smoother then the length of the spokes are alot more there to fold

I used to have a Commencal Absolut 4x in the late 2ks with the exact adjustable HA ure talking about. The headset is installed into a sleeve which is then held by 2 bolts in a "split' headtube. The sleeve itself is purposely designed to adjust HA , so basically u can use any standard headset to work. The idea was it could work as a steeper dirt jumper or a slacker 4x racing machine by just unbolting the headtube and turning the sleeve around. It was way ahead of its time and the only design ive ever seen with such convenience. I traded it for a Ti version after a few years but the later models are not HA adjustable anymore. Might wanna google up Commencal absolut 4x circa 2007/08 for some inspiration
